Bringing the Zoo to your School!
Little Explorers Petting Zoo is the perfect choice for enhancing your classroom learning, daycare, library activities, or after-school program! Your students will receive amazing hands-on experience with a wide variety of our friendly animals without the expense of sending them off campus or losing critical curriculum minutes. It is wonderful to be able to watch a child discover creatures previously only seen in books. We can easily customize our zoo presentation to meet your learning needs. Petting zoos are a great activity for all grade levels.
For planning and scheduling groups (especially larger schools), please contact us immediately to best prepare our visit.
Farm Animals Petting Zoo
The Farm Animals Petting Zoo is our most classic package filled with 25 animals total, of which includes an alpaca, a pot belly pig, a tortoise, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, and bunnies. We will have two of our trusted animal handlers accompany the animals and take care of all setup and clean up duties within the petting zoo, supervising your students inside the pen and offering help with the animals. We do provide all the equipment needed, such as fencing, food, and water, brushes, as well as a hand sanitizing booth. This program is a great go-to, whether we are visiting one class or the whole school!

Little Spinners
Little Spinners is both an educational presentation and a hands-on experience for children to understand what wool and fiber are and where they come from! We will be introducing fiber samples from different sources, such as animals, insects, and plants, and teach your little ones how wool is gathered, how it is washed and carded, and best of all, how to spin wool into a take-home bracelet for your students!

Reptile Programs for Schools
As the years have gone by, we have noticed the vast love and appreciation for reptiles inspiring the classroom, and we have always strived on ways we can improve our educational presentation to your students. We have developed three distinct reptile programs to better suit the needs of your various classes and age groups; here is a review of what we now offer!
Many of our reptile/amphibian/exotic insect classes are available on zoom.

Animal Discoveries
Animal Discoveries is a hands-on classroom program that teaches students the defining characteristics between mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates. Animal visitors may include Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches, tree frogs, bearded dragons, a tortoise, chickens, and rabbits. Each of our animals will be introduced one-at-a-time by our animal presenter for guests to meet and learn about their attributes, environments and natural behaviors. Each student will have the opportunity to have a guided learning experience with handling each of these different sorts of animals!
Our maximum capacity for this program is 20 students.

Rent-A-Classroom Pet
Having pets in the classroom is a wonderful way to get kids interested in learning! Our Rent-A-Pet program is a Monday through Friday visit with one of our easy-to-care-for animals. We will provide a "lunch box" full of helpful information and supplies, as well as hold a short presentation with you and your students to review the best care plan for your pet during their stay. Our different options to select one pet include Madagascar hissing cockroaches, fire belly toad, leopard gecko, bearded dragon, white tree frog or tortoise.

School Kiss-A-Pig
Our intention behind this is simple and fun: to excite your students and celebrate their hard work after reaching their goal! This is a great opportunity for any age of students to have an enjoyable experience with their teachers as we provide one of our handlers, one of our sweet pigs, and one hour of time for your assembly. Celebrations could be due to reaching a fundraising goal, attendance goal, reading goal, or any other goal your school has set!
*Please note that only one person may kiss the pig, and we must have a cleared area nearby that is out-of-sight of the assembly to care for our pig. Contact us if you are interested to learn more!
